It contains polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres suspended in a collagen gel carrier. Following injection, Bellafill® provides immediate volume correction to the treated area, such as smile lines (nasolabial folds). Over time, the collagen gel is gradually absorbed while the PMMA microspheres remain in place and may support the body’s natural collagen response around them. This process may contribute to longer-term improvement in volume and the appearance of wrinkles. Clinical studies have reported that results may last for several years in some patients; however, individual outcomes and duration vary.
