Doctor Emad Guirguis is a specialist in general surgery and is certified by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) to perform cosmetic surgery. In fact, the Quality Assurance Committee of the CPSO has commented on Dr. Guirguis’ high quality of care.
Dr. Guirguis has refined his surgical techniques so that any surgery he performs is designed in a way that will enable a patient to recover faster. An important medical service he provides is to perform corrective surgery on patients who have had complications resulting from treatments performed by surgeons in other surgical fields, including plastic surgery.
Dr. Guirguis is a staff surgeon at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, where he holds privileges. He graduated from the Department of Medicine at McMaster University in 1985 and completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Ottawa in 1992.
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons recognizes Dr. Guirguis as a specialist in General Surgery, meaning he has been trained to perform surgical procedures treating both the internal as well as the external parts of the body. He received his Specialist Certificate from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada in 1992. The College recognizes Dr. Guirguis as a cosmetic surgeon, as well as a general surgeon.
